Kumrat
Kumrat Valley is an attractive region situated in the Upper Dir district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. It is well renowned for its scenic features such as green hills, mountain snows, river and waterfalls.
It lies in the Hindu Kash mountaneous region and has an altitude of approximately 2500 meters above sea level. It is sort of a pull, a hub of natural landscape that has been characterized by luxuriant meadows, virgin forests, gushing waterfalls, and gem like, steam clear lakes. It is indeed a Paradise for the nature lovers and the adventure enthusiasts as the climate is fresh and the sceneries are gripping.
Some of the beautiful villages are THAL, KUMRAT, and Jahaz Banda that are indeed beautiful for their natural beauty and hospitable people. It has also some lakes also; Kumrat Lake and Jahaz Banda Lake are well-known for fisheres and boating.
Thal Kumrat Valley offers various fun activities such as trekking, hiking, and camping; It has number of tracks that leads the valley to other mountains and vales. Thal is significant for the old wooden mosque, was built in 1953 and also is one of customary places for tourists.
Jahaz Banda is a splendid meadow established in the Kumrat valley of Upper Dir district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Pakistan. It’s location is Upper Dir District and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northern Pakistan. Elevation of the place is approximately 3,100 meters or 10,170 feet. Open ground surrounded with high mountains, trees and grassy land touching the knees.
Activities: Hiking, picnicking, sight seeing. In the local language –Pashto the name ‘Jahaz Banda’ means ‘SHIP MEADOW’ this name has bee named like that because the meadow where it is has a shape like the ‘hull of a ship. ’ It is popular for the cultivation of alpine flowers that blossom in the summer season to make it even more beautiful.
Katora Lake is relatively small and mountainous glacial lake that is found in Jahaz Banda area in Kumrat Valley of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, Pakistan. The name Katora is quite appropriate, for, Katora is as much as ‘bowl’ in Pashto and indeed the lake is located in a bowl-shaped depression at an attitude of approximately 11,500 feet. The lake is historically famous for its magnificent views and the rather difficult hiking trail.
It is popular for its beauty; a peaceful place for tourists, adventure travelling, unexplored nature.
